    Experiencing problems on our website?

    Our IP, Flashnet, merged with Prodigy on February 7 and nothing has worked right since. We have contacted Prodigy about our problems but they have the worst tech support imaginable. They claim to hear the clients and be working on it, but we have no idea what or when fixes will come. At present, the forum and the store work, because they use different support sources, but the internal site links like Review The New Issue have been dead in the water since Midnight Feb 7. We're sorry for this random act of incompetence, but it can't last forever so, hang in there with us and check on the forum for updates. -TM

    I would seriously advise you consider a diferrent service if it's possible. At my job, we were using Flashnet and the headaches we encountered (poor service, killing off ISDN connections, accidently disconnecting our service, changing IP addresses out of the blue) caused us to quickly switch to someone else. And now we're fighting over the mysterious charges they put on our bill. I work in IT over here, so I got to hear everything. Anyway, I know it's harder to move if you're having them host the site. Hope the problems clear up for you better than they did for us. smile

    Argh!!!! I'm very frustrated with Prodigy. They have the crappiest service ever. I just wanted to share this in case anyone else is even thinking about Prodigy as an ISP.

    Here's a transcript of my "live online help chat with Prodigy"

    Jessica: Hello, Welcome to Prodigy Live Help.

    Jessica: How may I help you?

    Me: Hi, any progress on the work regarding running cgi scripts that used to work on Flash.net?

    (1 minute passes...)

    Me: hello?

    (another minute passes...)

    Me: if you're checking on it, it's customary to let the customer know that.

    (another minute passes...)

    Jessica: it is suppose to be up and running, but if it is not, then you need to contact pbiz at 1-888-698-HOST and they will be able to let you know

    Jessica: Here is the information to answer your question. Will there be anything else? If we do not get a response in a timely manner, the session may be closed due to inactivity.

    Me: it isn't up and running.

    Jessica: then you need to call

    Me: thanks you've been a big fat help

    (she disconnects our chat)

    Was it something I said? :P

    "No, we didn't change your IP numbers without telling you. We sent email messages to your Flashnet email account about that. Oh? You don't use Flashnet email? Well, maybe you should."

    I don't recommend Prodigy. Have you been checking into some other places to host the site?
